Brewing Blogs, Stores, and Affiliate Businesses

by Gerard on November 28, 2006

For the past 5 years we have been building web sites for businesses. Now we are creating our own. Over the past year I’ve decided to make a huge shift towards building web apps and our own little empire of affiliate/CPC revenue generating sites.

In August we started a project internally we are calling Brewing Business. I own around 100 domain names. All of which I’ve had plans on developing into stores, blogs, product review, social networking and many other concepts for sites. I couldn’t stand having the domains just sitting around any longer (Not to mention renewals eating at my pocket!!).

Many internet marketers and aspiring netrepreneurs have acquired domains in hopes to build the next big hit. We are taking a different approach, there are others doing the same, to monetize many sites under one umbrella. There are two of us working on the project and things are coming together nicely.

Our goal for the first 6 months is to reach $1 per day in revenue from 30 of the 100 domains. With November coming to an end, we are three months into the project. Just like in everything I’ve done, there has been lots of learning and growth has been steady. Its not looking like we are going to hit the goal, but thats not stopping us.

We are showing significant increases in traffic across our top 5 sites. Time constraints from other projects have caused the other 25 to receive about 1/4 the traffic of our front runners. We are making the adjustments necessary to provide visitors with better products, and the information they are searching for…

In our next post we will analyze one of our sites..stay tuned.
